The scorching heat has gradually faded
Bringing forth the chill of dusk

We sat down on a bench
Watching the sun as it sets

And with my old guitar
You played a sweet melody

And there we sat
Singing in unison
To a George Harrison version
Of some old song

We sat and sang there
Staring at the sky’s glory

As I sip cup after cup
While you smoked
‘Till you had one too many
